Abdullah Al-Lafi participates in the activities of the National Will for Change Forum in the capital, Tripoli.
Pulbished on:Tripoli, July 22, 2024 (LANA) - Representative of the Presidential Council, Abdullah Al-Lafi, participated today, Monday, in the activities of the National Will for Change Forum, which was organized by the National Gathering of Libyan Political Parties in the capital, Tripoli.
The Council's media office stated that the forum brings with it broad participation from members of the House of Representatives and the State House, heads of party groupings and political movements, blocs and coordination, and a number of heads and members of diplomatic missions accredited to Libya.
He explained that the forum discussed the most prominent challenges that hinder the political path, ways to encourage dialogue between various political forces, and build a common understanding about the Libyan political situation to get out of the current political impasse.
Al-Lafi stressed during his speech at the opening of the forum that the will to change reality begins with the deepening conviction that reality no longer suits everyone, and that it will disrupt the interests and future of future generations. The continuation of this division and the inability to build the foundations of national sovereignty will exacerbate the situation and deepen the division between the people of the country, the homeland, depleting its resources and capabilities, and mortgaging the homeland abroad.
He explained that the time has come for us to put our hands in each other’s hands, despite our differences, to formulate together a compatible project to lead change, achieving interim goals based on restoring state sovereignty by empowering a system that enjoys legitimacy and full legitimacy through a consensual political process, governed by a road map, with realistic entitlements. Implementable, according to specific time points, with commitment to confidence-building mechanisms, and providing adequate incentives and guarantees, to enable the political process to achieve its desired goals.
