Beijing, December 8, 2023 (LANA) - Zhang Yanqiu, head of the African Research Center at Peking University, called on the media in Libya to strengthen the unity and strength of the state to confront the threats and dangers to which the country is exposed.
Yanqiu said in a special statement to the Libyan News Agency delegate on the sidelines of the training course in the field of media held in the capital, Beijing, for a number of Libyan media professionals under the auspices of the Chinese Ministry of Foreign Affairs - that the Libyan media being drawn into ideologies and ideas that do not serve the interests of their country will contribute to the downfall of the Libyan media, the state and its pillars, which negatively affects the livelihood and security of the citizen.
She stressed that the media in Libya now faces great challenges that require them to keep pace with developments in the modern era and build capabilities to overcome these challenges.
On the other hand, Zhang Yanqiu said that the media in the countries of the African continent needs further development and modernization to confront threats and create a discourse that serves the interests of the peoples of the continent.
At the conclusion of her statement, Yanqiu called on the Libyan News Agency to open offices in the capital, Beijing, to build bridges of cooperation with the Chinese media, to cover all joint political activities between the two countries, and to highlight the true face of the Chinese state.
