Bengdara announces the launch of the “Think About Tomorrow” initiative.

Dubai, December 6, 2023 (Lana) Chairman of the Libyan National Oil Corporation (NOC), Farhat Bengdara, announced yesterday the launch of the “Think About Tomorrow” initiative with the aim of achieving a green and sustainable future for Libya.

The NOC stated on its Facebook page that Bengdara announced the initiative during his participation in the UN Climate Change Conference (COP28), held in Dubai, UAE.

The NOC stated that the initiative aims to adopt environmentally friendly practices, such as eliminating gas flaring and waste oil lakes, and also focuses on generating renewable energy to supply oil fields with clean energy.

The initiative also includes a project aimed at increasing green areas in oil lands by planting one million trees.

The NOC added that it plans to harness Libya's natural resources to supply the oil fields with solar energy as part of the initiative.
