Libyan Embassy in Madrid receives 12 antiquities smuggled from Libya.

Madrid, November 25, 2023 (LANA) - The Libyan Embassy in Madrid received 12 smuggled antiquities from Libya, through a judicial ruling issued by the Spanish court.

  The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation of the Government of National Unity stated that the combined efforts of the Attorney General’s Office, the Antiquities Service, and the team formed to retrieve the smuggled antiquities to Spain, and the follow-up of the Libyan Embassy in Madrid, and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs led to obtaining a ruling to hand over the pieces to the embassy.

The Libyan embassy in Madrid welcomed this ruling, expressing its hope that all the pieces that looted from Libya would be recovered.
