Grozny, September 20, 2023  (LANA) - President of the Chechen Republic, Ramzan Kadyrov, said that many Western countries showed almost complete indifference to the tragedy that Libya is witnessing as a result of the flood disaster that swept eastern Libya.

Kadyrov said in a press statement today, Wednesday: Libya is going through one of the most difficult periods in its history recently. There was a massive flood there, and as a result, according to various sources, tens of thousands of people were killed, injured, or missing, and entire cities and towns were drowned. .

Kadyrov added: “Although the sad images from Libya spread around the world,, the reaction of the international community seemed and still remains unconcerned, and many Western countries showed almost complete indifference to the tragedy taking place in the Islamic region.”

He stressed that: “If a similar situation had occurred in Europe, all the media would have cheered about it, and all available resources would have participated in the rescue operation.

He concluded by saying: "Chechnya is in constant contact with the Libyan leadership and is ready to provide the necessary assistance to those affected by the floods, unlike Western countries. We have been and remain a reliable friend of Libya in any matter, and we will always provide all possible assistance to people who find themselves in difficult situations."
