U.S. Ambassador to the United Nations renews her country's full support for the work of UN Envoy Abdoulaye Bathily in Libya.

   Washington, 5 October 2022 (Lana) U.S. Ambassador to the United Nations Linda Thomas Greenfield has renewed her country's full support for the new UN envoy Abdoulaye Bathily, to push for the political process and stability in Libya.

 In a tweet posted by the U.S. Embassy on its SMS page, Greenfield said following a meeting with Bathily that ‘the Assistant Secretary of State Leaf, the Special Envoy Norland and I have reiterated the United States' full support for Bathily’s important work in Libya.

  On his part, the US Envoy and Ambassador to Libya, Richard Norland, said, "I appreciate the opportunity to join the US Representative to the United Nations, Ambassador Linda Thomas Greenfield, and the Assistant Secretary of State for Near Eastern Affairs, Barbara Leaf, in offering United States full support for the Special Representative of the UN Secretary-General, Abdoulaye Bathily, as he assumes his important duties, as he put it."
