Italian Deputy Foreign Minister: Elections are the only reliable solution in Libya.

Rome, February 11, 2022 (LANA) - Italian Deputy Foreign Minister Marina Serini affirmed on Thursday that the elections in Libya represent the only "credible" solution.
“The elections in Libya represent the only reliable solution to facilitate and simplify the current highly fragmented political framework and thus contribute not only to the sustainable stability of the country, but also to meeting the legitimate aspirations of the Libyan people, who has demonstrated through registration in the voter lists, their determination to express themselves in free elections.”
The Italian official stressed that Italy, “continues to play a very active role in Libya to encourage the full and lasting normalization of a country whose stability is crucial not only to the entire surrounding region, but also to Italy and Europe, given the potential repercussions such as terrorism, energy security and increased illegal immigration flows.”
