Tripoli, December 09, 2021 (LANA) - The President of the Supreme Council of State, Khaled Al-Mashri, met today, Thursday, the Speaker of the Turkish Parliament, Mustafa Shantop, on the sidelines of the sixteenth session of the Conference of the Union of Councils of Member States of the organization of Islamic Cooperation, in Istanbul, Turkey.
The two sides discussed bilateral relations between the two countries and ways to enhance them in all fields, in addition to discussing cooperation between the Supreme Council of State and the Turkish
Parliament, according to what was published by the Council's media office on its official page.
During the meeting, they discussed the latest developments on the electoral process in Libya and the initiative put forward by the Supreme Council of State to solve the political impasse in the country.
During the meeting, the two sides stressed the need to hold elections on sound legal and constitutional bases to reach the stage of stability that the Libyan people aspire to.
