Deputy Head of Presidential Council Press Office Denies Statements Over Copying Turkish Model of Combating Illegal Migration.

Pulbished on:
Tripoli, 24 April 2016(Lana) The press office of the Deputy Head of the Presidential Council Ahmed Mi'tig has denied that the deputy has called for copying the Turkish experience of dealing with the EU on the issue of combating illegal migration. 'Some SMS pages dealt with the visit which Mi'tig made to Rome from a narrow perspective, trying to discredit it, the office told the Libyan news agency. The Deputy is not responsible for any wrong judgments, it said. Mi'tig wrote on his Facebook account that' Libya could seek guidance from the EU past experiences with countries such as Turkey, provided they suited Libya's requirements.' In statements posted to the Council's news page 'Bawabat Al Majlis', the Head of Europe Department at the Foreign Ministry Jalal Al Ashi, a member of the delegation on Mi'tig's visit to Italy, denied that the Rome meeting dealt with settling African migrants in Libya. Seeking guidance from experiments of others did not mean copying them, he said. 'What was discussed is a comprehensive strategy for source countries, including real development projects in the African countries, to create jobs and thus contribute to ending illegal migration, he said. =Lana=
