EU confirms that GNA the sole legitimate government in Libya.

Brussels, 19.04.2016(Lana) EU ministers of foreign affairs and defense reaffirmed that that the Government of National Accord (GNA) is the sole legitimate government in Libya. They stressed that the Libyan political accord signed in Al-Sukhirat and unanimously approved by the UN Security Council is still the bases for political progress in Libya. EU ministers urged, in a statement Monday, all Libyan parties to engage constructively the GNA and all other institutions listed in the political accord. They stressed the Security Council Resolution NO 2259 includes ending support and official contacts with parallel institutions. In their statement the ministers also urged the House of Representatives and other institutions including SCS to realize the tasks assigned to them by virtue of the political accord. EU ministers of foreign affairs and defense welcomed the recognition of various national institution including the Central bank, National Oil Corporation, Investment Authority and municipal council of the Government of National Accord. =Lana=
