Kobler Urges Libyan Youth to Do More to Promote Sports Values Among Local Communities.

Tripoli, 7 April 2016(Lana) The UN Special Envoy to Libya Martin
Kobler has urged Libyan male and female youth, to take a bigger role
in promoting sports values among their local communities.
'Sports can bring people of all backgrounds together, and across
the political spectrum, and on this occasion I call on all parties
especially members of civil society organisations and in the
municipalities who are closer to people' aspirations, to promote
sports values among their communities, from grassroots to the top,
Kobler said in statements on the 3rd anniversary of the International
Sports Day, which this year is celebrated under the theme 'for the
sake of peace and development.'
Football is very popular in Libya, and could be a unifying factor
for people of all backgrounds and affiliations, he said.
Kobler, the head the UN Support Mission in Libya, who is in Libyan
capital, met several mayors of Municipalities in Greater Tripoli
area, as well as sports cadres.
