Brussels, 4 April 2016(Lana) EU Ambassadors were expected to hold
a meeting on Tuesday to discuss difficulties facing the Al Saraj-led
National Accord Government in Libya.
Media sources quoted a European diplomatic source as saying, the
meeting was a prelude to a ministerial meeting at the foreign and
defence ministers level, to be solely devoted to the Libyan dossier.
In addition to the particular security issue, the EU said the
challenges facing the government of Al Saraj were at such a level of
seriousness, they require a re-formulation of the relationship
between Libya's eastern and western regions, re-operating of oil
facilities and launching the counter attack on Da'esh.
The Ambassadors' meeting aims to discuss setting up a European
security mission in Libya to assist the government with rebuilding
security structures, determine security flows, including problems
related to border control in the south, and strengthening control of
the coast as part of combating the refugee and migration problems.
The meeting also comes at a time the situation in the country is
in dire need for coordination with the Army Command, re-gaining
control of Benghazi, re-operating of oil facilities and launching the
counter attack on Da'esh.
