Libyan Consensus Government Arrival in Tripoli Welcomed by International Leaders.

Tripoli, 31 March 2016(Lana) The arrival of the Libyan Consensus
Government in Tripoli on Wednesday has been widely welcomed by
leaders of states and international organisations, with a common
message that it was the best hope for restoring stability and
reconciliation in a country torn by war and had suffered from
division and chaos for months.
Italian Foreign Minister Paolo Gentelone described the arrival of
the Presidential Council as an important step forward for stability
in Libya. He highlighted 'commitment by Fayez Al Saraj which made
this progress possible.' He also pledged Italian full support for the
UN-backed government.
French Foreign Minister Jean Marc Eurolet said the arrival of the
Al Saraj government in Tripoli was good news for Libya.
'It is a new and important phase, we know there are snags on the
way, the Minister said.
The UN Special Envoy to Libya also welcomed the arrival of the
head and members of the Prudential Council of the Libyan Consensus
Government in Tripoli, praising the courage of the head of the
council Fayz Al Saraj. He urged the Libyan people to extend support
for the government, and said the international community would be
prepared to offer the needed help and assistance.
The United States welcomed the arrival of Al Saraj Government in
Tripoli and promised support for the internationally-recognized
government.
The Secretary of State said in remarks the government could now
start crucial work to address the political, economic, security and
humanitarian challenges facing Libya.
The spokesman for the US State Department John Curby denounced
obstructers who he said 'trying to impede an important work'. We are
delighted by the news of arrival of Al Saraj in Tripoli, he said.
