Director General of Customs Authority hails outcome of recent Khomas meeting.

Khomas, 24.03.2016 (Lana) Director General of Customs Authority,
Brigadier General Mustafa Al Turjeman, hailed outcome of recent
Khomas meeting for all those present made national interest override
other interests.
He told Lana that resumption of Khomas seaport of its activities
would contribute to economic activities in the country.
He said goods follow through customs offices at sea and air ports as
well as land crossing points.
Director General of Customs Authority explained that the main tasks
and responsibilities of customs authority not only confined to
collecting custom tariffs which constitutes one of the main revenues
to state budget, but also to fight illicit trade, goods control,
trade fraud and cross border smuggling.
He said the customs authorities carry out economic and financial
control of utmost importance.
He also said the authority contributes to environment protection and
national heritage.
Broad meeting was recently held in the port city of Khomas some 120
km east of Tripoli attended by second deputy head of government ,
minister for GNC affairs, minister of health, director of Customs
Authority, mayor of Khomas, members if municipal council and Khomas
Military Council and head of Khomas crisis committee security
official at Khomas sea port.
The meeting concluded to rally their efforts and safeguard the sea
port.
