Foreign Ministry Issues Statement on Events in Benghazi and Ajdabiya.

Tripoli, 24 February 2016(Lana) The NSG Ministry of Foreign and international Cooperation has issued a statement on the bloody events in the cities of Benghazi and Ajdabiya, which it described as unjustified acts of hostility, that would further deepen the crisis and lead to more bloodshed. The Ministry called in a statement on Tuesday for an immediate cessation of military hostilities in Benghazi and Ajdabiya, being carried out by so called national army, including aerial bombardment and the use of different types of internationally-prohibited weapons. The statement called on regional and international organisations to shoulder their legal and humanitarian responsibilities, to stop violations against civilians which resulted in loss of life and which contravened humanitarian laws and values, and to open safe corridors to deliver humanitarian assistance to the victims. It also called on friendly and sisterly countries to take the necessary measures to facilitate treatment of the injured. =Lana=
