Tripoli, 17.02.2016(Lana) Lana reporters assigned to cover the
Libyan people 's celebrations of 5th anniversary of 17 the February
revolution monitored convergence of Libyan people, individuals,
groups and families to Tripoli's martyrs square from the early hours
of Wednesday morning to take part spontaously in the popular
celebrations. The joys people held the national flag in a scene
emboding sincere love to a homeland restored after great sacrifices
during which scores of martyrs were offered and during which blood of
Libyans from all regions was mixed in an epic revolution.
Joys children wore their best national dress and chanted slogans
expressing love for the homeland and embodied by their drawings the
moments of triumph and victory, as warplanes hovered overhead to
salute the masses of the people at martyrs square which converged
from various Libyan cities and towns.
The crowds chanted national songs collectively that echoed
throughout the city, expressing loyalty to the martyrs who paid by
their blood and pure souls for the sake of freedom and homeland.
Lana reporters noted that the families of the martyrs carried the
portraits of the martyrs to underscore that the sacrifices of their
beloved ones were not in vain, for had not been for their sacrifices
these masses would not be here today.
Other Libyan cities also witnessed similar joys celebrations. In
Sebha the people marked the 5th anniversary of the revolution. Lana
reported said the main squares and streets of Sebha were decorated
with the national flag and placards expressing joy at this occasion.
Fireworks were also used to express joy and pride at the revolution
anniversary.
Sources said celebration and various programmers are to be
organized over the coming days to mark the revolution anniversary.
Celebrations marking revolution anniversary were also organized
in Ghiryan city, the people of the city marched through the main
streets of the city from the early hours of the day carrying the
national flag and placards. The joys masses chanted slogans and
carried the portraits of the martyrs and sounding the horns of their
cars as a sign of joy and pride. Many progranmes are planned for the
celebrations including fairs and exhibitions of classical cars,
motorcycle shows and Calvary and boy scouts shows and fairs for
homemade traditional artifacts.
