Tripoli, 17 February 2016(Lana) A Statement was read out at the
celebration by the Tripoli revolutionaries who reaffirmed their
absolute support to Islamic Sharia as the only source of legislation
in Libya, and that any laws contradicting Sharia would be considered
null and void.
They announced their rejection of the UN behavior towards Libya,
and condemnation of the attempts to impose a government of the Libyan
People. They denounced terrorism and called on the revolutionaries to
close ranks, as part of the military institutions, stressing that
they would always remain the safety valve of Libya's unity.
The Mufti of Libya Al Sadeg Al Gharyani saluted the audience, and
said the February 17 Revolution has lived up to its goals and would
remain a support for the rights and unity of homeland, and against
any foreign intervention and in defence of the law of God.
Speaking at the celebration the Head of the National Salvation
Government Khalifa Al Ghweil said the February 17 Revolution was
being celebrated because it was victory of right over wrong, and it
helped remove a tyrannical regime that had reigned with injustice,
oppression and corruption for decades.
'some say the revolution has deviated from its course, which is
false and those who say this were promoting a counter-revolutionary
discourse which is baseless, Al Ghweil said.
We say to them 'we are a Muslim people, and the Qu'ran is our
guide and discipline, we are committed to fight terrorist groups and
reject division, he said.
