EU Demands House of Representatives Endorse Consensus Government.

Brussels, 16 February 2106(Lana) EU foreign ministers have called,
at a meeting here on Monday, on the Libyan House of Representatives
to speed up endorsement of the newly-reached national consensus
government.
The EU High Representative of Foreign Affairs and Security Policy
Federica Mogherini urged the House of Representatives to enable the
government of Fayez Al Saraj to assume power, to execute its plan for
re-stabilizing the country, describing the plan unveiled by the head
of government as 'good news.'
Italian Foreign Minister Paolo Gentelone, on his part, renewed
his country's support for Al Saraj government, expressing hope that
the House would endorse the new form of the government.
German Foreign Minister Frank Steinmer said 'we were keen to meet
the President of the House of Representatives in Munich. We urged him
to endorse the new government so that the international community can
extend assistance to Libya, he said.
French Foreign Minister Jean Marc Ayrault underlined the need for
Libya to come out of its crisis. He called on Libyan House of
Representatives to enable the government to function soon in Tripoli
to tackle challenges faced by the country.
Yesterday the House of Representatives put off endorsement of the
government until the session it was expected to hold on Tuesday.
