Anti-Da'esh coalition meets in Rome.
Pulbished on:
Rome, 2 February 2016(Lana) Representatives from the 23 countries
of the US-led coalition gathered in Rome to plan for the battle
against so called Islamic State in Iraq and Syria and to stop its
expansion in Libya.
Officials said the coalition would review their effort to
recapture territories taken by the IS or Da'esh in Syria and Iraq and
ways to halt the spread of the extremist group in Libya.
They said the meeting would discuss establishment of stability in
the Iraqi city of Tikrit which was retaken from Da'esh and the wider
effort to stop its funding and the influx of foreign fighters by
addressing their campaign on the Internet.
The possible expansion of Da'esh in Libya where rival factions
contest for power would be the main topic on the agenda of the
meeting.
Da'esh is trying to seize parts of Libya particularly Sirte, and
Washington will work with the Libyans and the coalition partners to
prevent that.
