Pulbished on:

Tripoli, 23 December 2015(Lana) The Central Bank of Libya has
categorically dismissed a letter it was claimed to have addressed to
the General National Congress under the number 164/2015 dated 26
November 2015, over unfreezing of Libyan assets with an amount
exceeding $19 billion, as well as lifting sanctions on financial
assets of more than 5 billion dollars and 1 billion Euros.
In a statement, the CBL said 'the reports were but lies and
fabrications by forces which stood to lose from the peace and
stability in Libya, and who are simply ignorant of the standards and
norms being observed by international financial institutions and
organisations in pursuing their work, and who are intent on
destroying the credibility of the Libyan establishment responsible
for the monetary policy which is the Central Bank of Libya, which
performs with professionalism and responsibility, acknowledged by
both Libyans and the international monetary and financial
institutions.'
The CBL said it was committed to transparency and preservation of
the Libyan money at the difficult juncture in which Libya is going
through.
