Public initiative to designate 2016 year of "Peace & Reconciliation in Libya".

Tripoli, 21.12.2015(Lana) Wise men and activists from across the country called for joining the national initiative that calls for designation of 2016 a year of "Peace & Reconciliation in Libya" across the country. A Member of the Preparatory Committee of the Council of Libya Elderly and Wise men, Dr Taher Al-Badawi, overseeing the initiative, called on all Libyans, civil institutions and official quarters to join the initiative. He underlined that the GNC and HoR in Tobruk were among the forerunners to welcome the initiative calling for encouraging and supporting it. Al-Badawi said the initiative met positive responses from several activists who posted on social websites " Libya Towards peace" and Year of Tolerance" as themes for the initiative. He proposed to all Libyans in the west, east, south and north to raise white flags on their balconies to express their desire for peace and comp-erhensive reconciliation and ending and era of bitter conflict that dragged the country into catastrophes and disasters at all levels. Al-Badawi revealed that the initiative would be inaugurated by launching sportive activity at Tripoli International stadium in a form of a local competition to include clubs from east and west of the country to embody national cohesion and harmony. He said the celebration would be decorated with white and national flags and placards calling for peace and national reconciliation. He urged all to take part in the celebration. Al-Badawi said every Libyan has a right to dream of a better homeland than it is now and should work to protect it from discord, feud , considering the deep wounds that divided the Libyans should now bring them together for the love of the homeland. =Lana=
