Tripoli, June 4, 2024 (LANA) - Representative of the Presidential Council, Abdullah Al-Lafi, met today, Tuesday, with the Deputy Special Envoy of the Secretary-General of the United Nations and the United Nations Resident Coordinator for Humanitarian Affairs, Georgette Gagnon.

The media office of the Presidential Council stated that Georgette Gagnon informed Al-Lafi of the results of her visit to the city of Ghadames, the local meetings she conducted during this visit, and the results of her recent tours and meetings in a number of cities in eastern Libya.

During the meeting, she affirmed the mission’s readiness to support all the efforts of the Presidential Council on the path of reconciliation and achieving transitional justice in Libya.

The representative of the Presidential Council praised the mission’s work and its continued cooperation in the field of reconciliation and the promotion of freedoms and human rights.
