Competition for the first Libyans to memorize the Holy Qur’an concludes at the Bab Al-Bahr Hotel in Tripoli.
Pulbished on:Tripoli, May 25, 2024 (LANA) - The first session of the competition for the top Libyans in memorizing the Holy Qur’an was concluded at the Bab Al-Bahr Hotel in Tripoli yesterday, Friday, which brings together who achieved first places in local and international competitions.
The media office of the General Authority for Endowments and Islamic Affairs stated that the competition was organized by the Authority, in which the contestant, “Naji Attia bin Sulaiman,” ranked first with a score of 96.242%, the contestant, “Abdul Hamid Al-Ghawil,” ranked second with a score of 95.847%, and the contestant, “Ziyad Muhammad Ahbesh.” In third place with a score of 95.775%, contestant Ali Muhammad Al-Younesi in fourth place with a score of 95.734%, and contestant Muhammad Mahmoud Al-Duruqi in fifth place with a score of 95.725%.
The competition was very strong among the contestants, and the difference between first and fifth place was less than 1% of the scores.
Its noteworthy, that (the First Libyans Competition) is the strongest competition in the world and Libya. It was held in the Libyan capital, Tripoli, and lasted for 6 days. During the morning and evening periods, the jury listened to a number of contestants who only achieved first place in international competitions in recent years.
