The Arab-Chinese Cooperation Forum calls for reviving human values and promoting rapprochement between the Arab and Chinese civilizations.

Hangzhou, December 11, 2023 (LANA) - The sixth session of the Arab-Chinese Cooperation Forum in the field of radio and television was concluded in the Chinese city of Hangzhou, under the title: “Strengthening Chinese-Arab friendship and jointly benefiting from the development of the audio-visual industry.”

At the conclusion of the forum's activities, the participants issued a statement in which they praised the important role played by the Arab-Chinese Cooperation Forum in the field of radio and television since its launch in 2011 in enhancing Arab-Chinese media dialogue, deepening exchanges between Arab countries and China, and developing Arab-Chinese relations.

The statement - a copy of which was received by the Libyan News Agency delegate to the Chinese city of Hangzhou - called for intensifying consultation and coordination, for the continuous development of mechanisms, and pushing the forum to become more effective and efficient, and work together to revive the common values of all humanity and enhance rapprochement between the Arab and Chinese civilizations.

The participants in the forum stressed that the Belt and Road Initiative gave new impetus to global economic growth and opened new horizons for global development and international economic cooperation. They also stressed the need to deepen exchanges and cooperation in the field of radio, television, and audio-visual media to serve common development and push economic growth between the two sides within the framework of the initiative. .

The statement stressed the need to adhere to the spirit of Arab-Chinese friendship represented by solidarity, synergy, equality, and mutual benefit, to be guided by the spirit of the first Arab-Chinese summit, and to work within the framework of what was reached in the “Riyadh Declaration” and “the broad outlines of the comprehensive cooperation plan between the Arab countries and the People’s Republic of China.” And a “document on deepening the Arab-Chinese strategic partnership for peace and development” in a way that serves the common interests of both sides.

The participants in the forum called for continuing to strengthen coordination of radio, television, and audiovisual policies, and consultation on establishing bilateral and multilateral mechanisms and platforms for cooperation and deepening exchanges, and providing more facilities in the production of joint programs, in addition to facilitating the flow of news and the participation of journalists from both sides in media coverage of activities, and jointly respond to new challenges.

The statement called for continuing to enhance journalistic cooperation, and encouraging radio, television, and audio-visual media from both sides to communicate their common voices on major international and regional issues, and support each other on issues related to basic interests and common concerns, providing true, objective and fair news information to the international community, and contributing to promoting the establishment of a fair international system of communication.

The Arab-Chinese Forum recommended supporting mutual visits between government officials and media professionals from both sides, cooperating in organizing training activities for high-level talents on radio and television, implementing joint interviews and joint filming, continuing to organize the Arab-Chinese short video competition and other activities, and building a platform for friendly exchanges between media professionals, as well as enhancing cooperation in the field of scholarship in the field of radio and television.

The recommendations stressed strengthening scientific and technological cooperation, adapting to the trends of the rapid development of digital technologies such as big data, artificial intelligence, virtual reality, augmented reality, fifth generation communications technology, ultra-high definition technology and others, accelerating the transformation and upgrading of radio and television, and integrating the development of new media with modern media, in addition to the need to provide users with richer and higher quality audio-visual products and services.

The forum comprehensively reviewed the fruitful results achieved by the Chinese government, the governments of Arab countries, and the Arab and Chinese media in enhancing radio and television exchange and cooperation since the fifth session of the forum, and the positive contributions made by the two sides to building the Arab-Chinese strategic partnership.
