EUBAM launches an awareness campaign on violence against women.

Tripoli, November 26, 2023 (Lana) The EU Border Assistance Mission in Libya (EUBAM) launched an awareness campaign on violence against women as part of the world’s celebration of the International Day of Violence Against Women.

The EUBAM stated on its website that the campaign known as the 16 Days of Violence Against Women, which begins today, focuses on preventing violations of women’s rights and protecting them.

The campaign aims to highlight the significance of investing in prevention and protection measures to combat violence against women.

The world celebrates the International Day for the Elimination of Violence Against Women and Girls through the UN “Unite” campaign, which consists of 16 days of activities to combat violence against women and girls from November 25 to December 10, which is the day on which International Human Rights Day is celebrated.

The UN General Assembly has designated November 25 as the International Day for the Elimination of Violence Against Women, in accordance with Resolution 54/134. The aim is to raise awareness about the extent of the problems that women are exposed to around the world, such as rape and violence, domestic violence, and other forms of violence.
