Tripoli, November 22, 2023 (LANA) - The UN envoy, Abdullah Batili, listened to opinions and proposals presented by a delegation from the Social Council of the Warfalla Tribes from Bani Walid regarding moving the political process forward and leading to holding elections.

  This came during his reception yesterday in Tripoli, a delegation from the Social Council of the Warfalla tribes from Bani Walid, led by its president, Sheikh “Aqila Najm,” according to a tweet published by “Batili” through his account on the “X” platform (formerly Twitter),

The UN envoy added that the delegation shared their aspirations for a unified, stable and sovereign Libya, while during the meeting, Batili reaffirmed the United Nations’ commitment to a comprehensive political process led and owned by the Libyans to reach a consensual settlement on electoral laws.

  Batili also stressed the responsibility of the Social Council of the Warfalla Tribes as citizens and social leaders to contribute to creating an environment conducive to holding peaceful elections under a unified government, according to the UN envoy’s tweet.
