Sirte Oil Company succeeds in achieving high and unprecedented results for one of the closed wells in the Zaltan field.

Pulbished on:

Tripoli  November 11 (Lana), the National Oil Corporation (NOC) announced the success of the technical teams and engineers of Sirte Oil and Gas Company in achieving high and unprecedented results for one of the closed wells in the Zaltan field.

NOC said in a statement that the maintenance process for the well (C258H-6) was completed using the Workover Rig maintenance platform, through which the water-producing layer of Zaltun was isolated, the upper Harash layer was completed, and an acid stimulation process was carried out.

It added that the well's productivity amounted to 3,326 barrels of 100% crude oil per day, without any accompanying water, according to a test and evaluation using a moving test separator through a 48/64-inch throttle and a pressure of 527 pounds per square inch (normal flow).

NOC praised the great efforts and highly appreciated the studied plans of the Sirte Company that resulted in these, affirming its continued support for the ambitious plans that lead to such results.

It is noteworthy that this well has been closed since April 2013 due to weak production and the large amount of accompanying water production, as it reached more than 97% of the Zaltan layer, which was isolated after maintenance.
