Benghazi, 7 December 2022 (Lana) Speaker of the House of Representatives Ageela Saleh, issued a statement regarding the issuance of the law establishing the Constitutional Court, in which he explained that the establishment of a constitutional court by the House of Representatives, the legislative authority, is a confirmation of what was included in the draft constitution in Articles (138 to Article 145) approved by the members of the Constitutional Track Committee formed by the House of Representatives and the State Council.

The Speaker of the House of Representatives expressed his surprise at the lack of understanding of what is meant by the establishment of the court; because what the House of Representatives has taken is a matter that achieves justice and has no impact on the constitutional process, through which when the constitution is issued, all laws contrary to its provisions will be repealed.

The statement stressed that the issuance of the House of Representatives law establishing the Constitutional Court is an affirmation of the protection of freedoms and rights and the addition of a specialized judiciary in constitutional affairs.
