In his speech before the Security Council "Al-Senni" describes the council as helpless in the face of the Libyan crisis.
Pulbished on:Tripoli, 26 July 2022 (Lana) the Libya's Delegate to the Security Council "Al-Taher Al-Senni" ,described the security Council as incapable in the face of the Libyan crisis ,due to its division, stressing that the Libyan people are tired of its sessions ,and have lost their hope in them.
Al-Senni stated during his speech at the Security Council ,yesterday, that the Council stood helpless as a result of divisions it suffers from ,saying that the sessions are all repetitive and ineffective.
"Until now , and to mention but not limited to ,since the start of Libyan crisis ,more than 172 sessions have been held in the security council ,27 UN reports were issued, 19 reports of the Panel of Experts ,and 23 reports of the International Criminal Court ,and what's the result? Nothing," Al-Senni added.
"There are certain international forces fear the idea of elections in Libya, because they don't guarantee their results ,which may not serve their narrow interests ,and the the international community's attention is focused on three files ,first of which is continuation of the flow of oil ,preventing migration to Europe, and combating terrorism", he said.
Al Senni said that the rest of what's happening in Libya is "unimportant" and far from the three files that the international forces focus on ,recalling that resolving the Libyan crisis requires restoring ownership and leadership to the political process to the Libyans and enabling the people to renew the legitimacy of national institutions through holding the elections ,which he considers the vehicle to achieve this task.
Al-Senni reiterated the need for the international and regional forces to lift their hand off Libya and not interfere in its internal affairs ,calling to leave Libyans alone to agree on the constitutional track and unify the institutions to hold the elections as soon as possible , free and fair elections ,that achieve the political participation without exclusion ,and guarantee the minimum level of the national consensus.
