Al Mnefi confirms to Sabadell Presidential Council stands at a distance from all parties and institutions, puts as priority accomplishment of national reconciliation.
Pulbished on:Tripoli, 8 February 2022 (Lana) The President of the Presidential Council Mohamed Al Mnefi received in Tripoli on Tuesday morning the European Union Ambassador to Libya Jose Sabadell, who briefed him on the agenda of the upcoming African-European summit in Brussels, and reviewed the joint Libyan-European files.
The President of the Presidential Council confirmed to the Ambassador of the European Union that the Presidential Council stands at one distance from all parties and institutions and prioritizes the completion of the national reconciliation project.
"The problem existing now is legal and constitutional, and it must be addressed as soon as possible," Al Mnefi added. The Presidential Council is seeking to get elections held as a way out and the current situation and a solution, and that they should be conducted as soon as possible."
He stressed the importance of maintaining the popular momentum to go to the parliamentary and presidential elections, according to the Berlin track, and the Geneva Agreement", revealing that the Presidential Council continued to develop a general and practical framework, in order to remove mercenaries from all Libya, referring to the Council's dealings with the issue of the removal of mercenaries with some countries as partners, and rejecting any foreign intervention of any kind.
On the migration issue, the President of the Presidential Council considered it a joint file, not just a local file, Libya is Africa’s gateway to Europeans, Europe’s gateway to Africans.
