Supreme Judicial Council Rejects Abu Zneiga Agreement as Intervention in Judicial System Affairs.

Tripoli, 24 January 2021(Lana) The Supreme Judicial Council has denounced the text of an agreement reached by the negotiating teams at the Moroccan resort of Abu Zneiga regarding the quota system between Libyan regions which the Council said an infringement on the judicial authority and undermining of its authority and independence. 

The Council said as it wished the political talks every success to rid the country of political conflict and restore security and stability to the country, it denounces the quota system being being employed at the dialogue over the sovereign posts especially the judicial authority.

The Council said the judicial authorities and their heads are ruled by legal procedures and can not be left to a group of people that carry no legal identity enshrined in the permanent constitution of the country.
