A new envoy of the European Union to Libya to assist in border management.

Brussels, January 15, 2021 -Lana - The European Union yesterday
appointed the Italian diplomat Natalina C. as the new head of its
mission to assist in border management in Libya, succeeding Vincenzo
Tagliveri, head of mission since early September 2016.
The statement issued by the European Union yesterday stated
that:"Natalina C, during her 20-year career headed the Office of
International Cooperation and Technical Assistance of the Italian
Customs Administration, in addition to missions, programs and
projects in the civil security sector at the international level,
especially in the field of managing Borders and related security and
justice issues".
It is noteworthy that the European Union established a civilian
mission in Libya in 2013, to support the Libyan authorities' efforts
to disrupt organized crime networks within the framework of the
common security and defense policy.
The Mission works in coordination and cooperation with its
international partners to combat smuggling networks of illegal
immigrants, human trafficking as well as terrorist organizations.
