Commission: Thousands of Libyans Across the Country Live in Insecure Conditions.

Tripoli, 9 August 2020(Lana) UN High Commissioner for Refugees
said an estimated 1.3 million people were in need of humanitarian
assistance in Libya, and thousands were living in insecure
conditions.
The number of internally displaced people has exceeded 217000,
while 278559 have returned to their homes, Libya is also a host to
43113 refugees and registered asylum seekers, the UNHCR said on its
SMS page.
Refugees take the same risky route to Europe as migrants, nearly
90% of those who cross the Mediterranean come from Libya, it said.
Supporting the displaced and refugees is a first priority for the
UNHCR, which works to provide shelter and basic needs for them.
