Tunisia, 20.06.2020 - Lana - Mauritania and Tunisia announced,
Friday, the importance of concerted efforts to move the political
process in Libya to find a "Libyan-Libyan" political way out, that
provides security and stability and guarantees the country's
territorial integrity.
The Tunisian Ministry of Foreign Affairs confirmed in a statement
posted on its Facebook page that the two ministers, "Noureddine
al-Rai" and the Mauritanian, "Ismail Ould Cheikh Ahmed" exchanged
views on the developments of the situation on the regional and
international arenas, and issues of common concern, particularly the
Libyan file.
Tunisia and Algeria recently intensified their diplomatic moves in
search of forming a united Maghreb position that offers a political
settlement to the Libyan crisis.
Last week, the Mauritanian Minister of Defense, "Hananah Ould Sidi",
during a video meeting of the defense ministers of the five Sahel
Group countries, called on the international community to work for an
immediate end to the fighting in Libya and find a sustainable
political solution to the Libyan crisis.
"Ould Hanna" said that the Libyan crisis affects security and
stability in the entire Sahel region.
