Postponement of the visit of Russian Foreign and Defense Ministers to Turkey.

Moscow, 15.06.2020 - Lana - Russia announced, Sunday, the
cancellation of a visit of its foreign ministers, Sergey Lavrov and
defense, Sergey Shoygo, to Istanbul, to discuss the latest
developments in Libya with Turkish officials.
It was scheduled that the two ministers, "Lavrov" and "Shoygo", would
arrive in Istanbul later, Sunday, but the Russian Foreign Ministry
said - in a statement - that the visit was postponed, noting that: It
was agreed to set a later date for the two ministers' visit.
The Russian Foreign Ministry added that on behalf of the heads of the
two countries, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Defense of Russia
and Turkey are actively working to support the settlement in Libya.
The Russian Foreign Ministry continued: "The experts continue
intensive contacts, in order to reach a quick ceasefire agreement and
the establishment of a negotiating mechanism between the Libyan
parties in various fields, politically and economically, under the
auspices of the United Nations, according to the outputs of the
Berlin Conference and international resolutions."
On the other hand, the Turkish Foreign Ministry said that the
Minister "Mevlüt Gawish-uglo" and his Russian counterpart, "Sergei
Lavrov" decided to postpone the talks during a phone call, Sunday.
"The deputy ministers of the two countries will continue to
communicate and hold talks in the coming period, and at the
ministerial level will take place at a later date," the ministry
added - in a statement.
