"Hananeh Ould Sidi", called for work to immediately end the fighting
in Libya and find a sustainable political solution to the Libyan
crisis.
"Hananeh Ould Sidi" said in a speech during a video meeting of the
defense ministers of the five Sahel group countries, that the Libyan
crisis affects security and stability in the entire Sahel region.
Friday, the Mauritanian Defense Minister chaired a video meeting of
Sahel defense ministers devoted to discussing topics related to field
military operations in the vicinity of the group and support for the
national military forces and the joint force.
In addition to the international and security actors' obligations
directed at providing security and stability in the Sahel region and
enhancing local development opportunities in member states.
The Mauritanian Minister of Defense stressed the importance of the
three axes that this ministerial meeting will address, whether it
comes to field military operations, or to the support of the national
forces and the joint force of the countries of the group, or the
pledges of international actors in the security and development
fields.
According to the Mauritanian News Agency, this meeting is part of the
ongoing preparations for the group's summit scheduled for the end of
this month in Nouakchott, which will bring together all parties
within the framework of the Alliance for the Sahel.
