Tunisia, 11.06.2020 - Lana - Tunisia's exports of agricultural and
food products to Libya until April 2020 decreased by 17.5%, according
to the Tunisian Observatory of Agriculture.
The observatory attributed in a statement on Tuesday, this decline
mainly due to the turmoil that affected the trade exchanges due to
the impact of the Corona pandemic and the restrictions imposed on
international trade.
The value of exports of sea products in the direction of Libya
decreased by about 6.3 million dinars, and by 82.1% in comparison to
2019, and vegetables by 17.2%, at a value of 1.2 million dinars.
Starting from last May, Tunisia had allowed restrictions on the
supply of goods to Libya to be eased by allowing transporters and
exporters to exchange goods at the border crossings level, without
entering Tunisian territory for Libyans or entering Libyan lands for
Tunisians.
The activity of exporting and supplying goods has stopped completely
since the middle of last March due to the fear that the epidemic will
pass through people and goods.
