Italian Ministry of Defense: Operation "IRINI" is not a solution to the problem, but is part of the solution.

Rome, 11.06.2020 - Lana - Italian Defense Minister, Lorenzo Guirini
said that the European "IRINI" operation to monitor the arms embargo
to Libya is not the solution to the problem, as the European Union's
High Representative, Joseph Borrell, said, but it is part of the
solution, noting that it had achieved excellent results.
Guirini, during his visit to the headquarters of the operation in
Rome, described the operation as an important political ambition
because it is a testimony, if only partially, of what Europe can do
about the Libyan crisis, according to the Italian Ministry of Defense
statement, which was quoted by the Italian news agency Aki on Monday.
.
He added that the process remains among our most important
contributions to the path, which began with the Berlin Conference,
for peace and stability in Libya, thanks to the commander of the
operation, Admiral "Fabio Agostini" and all the military personnel
from other European contributing countries.
During the visit, Agostini presented IRINI's activities and the
results of the European mission, which includes more than 20
countries, in addition to Italy, which it leads.
