Tripoli, 11.06.2020 - Lana - The European Union expressed today,
Tuesday, its deep concern about explosive devices and explosive mines
located in southern Tripoli, affirming its support for disposal
efforts by providing technical and equipment assistance and direct
assistance in mine clearance operations.
The Federation pointed out that these explosive devices caused many
casualties among the displaced people returning to their homes and
mine clearance teams, according to the statement carried by the
Federation's Mission to Libya on its page on the social networking
site "Facebook".
The Ambassador of the European Union in Libya, during his meeting
with the Minister of the Interior in the government of
reconciliation, "Fathi Pashaga," conveyed on Monday, the Union's
appreciation of the formation of a joint team between the National
Authority for Safety and Forensic Medicine to get rid of these
munitions and these mines.
The statement stressed that the union will support this partnership
to improve Libyan capabilities to address the clearance of explosive
remnants of war and improvised explosive devices in southern Tripoli.
It is noteworthy that the Ministry of Interior in the Accord
Government reiterated its calls to the people of the areas south of
Tripoli not to return to their homes, fearing for their wounds. Mines
