European Union Mission in Libya: We hope Eid Al-Fitr will be a time to make peace and stop fighting in Libya.

Tripoli, 24.05.2020 - Lana - The head of the European Union Mission
in Libya, Alan Bujia, called for respecting the spirit of Eid Al Fitr
in Libya and allowing the celebration of this sacred holiday in
peace, reconciliation and compassion, which is the essence of Islam.
"Bujia" continued in a statement to the European Union mission,
Saturday, that this year 's holiday coincides with the continued
presence of thousands of Libyans in the face of the effects of the
ongoing war, which continues to cause death, destruction and
displacement, while the country faces the Covid - 19 pandemic.
He added that for the second year in a row, I invite all those who
hold power to respect the spirit of Eid Al-Fitr, adding that the
holiday should be a time for joy and celebration, and for making
peace.
Earlier, the United Nations Support Mission in Libya congratulated
the Libyans on the occasion of Eid Al-Fitr, calling for a holiday
without fighting and without hatred, and expressed its wishes that
this holiday be the end of the conflict, fighting and division in
Libya.
