Department at the UNICEF Rania Sharsher said 'more than 15000
individuals including more than 8000 children in Libya are receiving
treatment for post-traumatic affect of explosives and mines.'
In a statement published on Tuesday, Sharsher said 'Libya is
still facing deep political crises, societal division and economic
challenges because of lack of stability over the last eight years.'
'The struggle has affected more than 1.8 million, including more
than 268000 children , Sharsher said, indicating that dozens of
children have been killed or wounded as a result of the shelling or
from small arms and explosives.
'Armed violence has caused thousands of families to flee their
homes, sustained heavy damage to the infrastructure and grossly
impaired ability by the most vulnerable to access basic services,
water and accommodation, she said.
