Italy Takes Over Chairmanship of Libya Affairs Council After Munich Conference.

Maans announced that chairmanship of Libya Affairs Council would
be assumed by Italy at the end the Munich Security Conference in
accordance with the rotation order.
'Following today's meeting chairmanship of the group will be
rotatory, it will be handed over to Italy, which will host the next
meeting in Rome in March, Maas said at a press conference.
He called for engaging the African Union in solving the Libyan
conflict, and to ensure enforcement of the arms embargo.
It's good to engage the African Union in resolving the Libyan
conflict, because it's an African country after all, he said.
The African Union will have a role in ensuring that the arms
embargo is in place, and could also host the international follow up
committee, he said.
Meanwhile, the Deputy UN Envoy to Libya Stephanie Williams warned
against violation of UN arms embargo on Libya, saying Libya had very
sophisticated weapons which threaten domestic and international
security.
