Tunisian Foreign Ministry: UN Security Council Should Immediately Act to Stop Bloodshed in Libya.

Tunis, 9 January 2020(Lana) Tunisian Foreign Ministry said it was
imperative on the UN Security Council to act immediately and
urgently, to reinforce its resolutions on the political and military
crisis in Libya.
In a statement on Wednesday, the Ministry stressed that the
Security Council session held on Monday was called by Tunisia, to
work towards implementing Resolution No. 2486 of 2019 that calls on
all parties to commit to a ceasefire, and member states to adhere to
the arms embargo.
According to the statement, Tunisia has expressed its
denunciation and rejection of the continued bloodshed in Libya,
noting that to achieve this goal, there should be first a political
settlement of the crisis, an immediate ceasefire and a preventing a
breach of the arms embargo on Libya.
The statement stressed the importance on involving Libya's
neighbors in any international initiatives aimed at achieving a
political solution in the country.
