Brussels, 28.12.2019 - Lana - Next Monday, the Belgian capital
Brussels, will host a meeting on the Libyan crisis with high-ranking
officials from the foreign ministries of Italy, France, Germany and
the United Kingdom.
The meeting aims to prepare for the visit of the European Union
mission to Libya, which will be chaired by the High Representative
for Foreign Policy and Security in the European Union, "Joseph
Borrell", which is likely to take place before the Berlin conference
that expected to be held in the second half of next January,
according to the Italian agency "Aki".
Earlier, Italian Foreign Minister "Luigi de Mayo" revealed
preparations for a European mission to Libya led by "Borrell",
accompanied by foreign ministers of European countries.
Borrell believes that the crisis in Libya is a very serious problem
because it lies on the borders of the European Union, and stresses
the need for the European Union to be a "global player", calling for
making every effort to improve the situation in Libya and find a
political, not military, solution to the crisis.
He also supports the efforts of the UN envoy, Ghassan Salama, as well
as the Berlin process, which has been under preparation since last
October.
