Salama Addresses Message to Libyans Urging Ceasefire and Talks to Resolve Their Crisis.

Salama has warned against grave violations of human rights in Libya,
and urged Libyans to halt the ongoing fighting on the outskirts of
the capital, and to return to the negotiating table to resolve their
differences.
This came in a message Salama made on the International Human
Rights Day, posted by the UN Support Mission in Libya UNSMIL to its
SMS page.
'The UN Mission has documented 647 victims among civilians of
whom 284 killed and 363 wounded since the start of the war on the
fringes of Tripoli on April 4, Salama said.
Grave violation of human rights have been committed as a result
of the war, he said.
The Libyan crisis cannot be resolved militarily, Salama said,
renewing a call by the UN for all parties to a ceasefire and to
return to negotiations.
