EU Mission to Libya Calls for End to Fighting and Return to Political Talks.

Tripoli, 16 October 2019(Lana) The European Union's Mission to Libya has renewed a call to all Libyan parties to immediately halt fighting and return to political talks, saying the Libyan crisis cannot be resolved militarily. In a statement published on its website on Tuesday, the Mission said 'there is no military solution to the Libyan crisis, therefore all parties have to halt combat operations immediately, and return to UN-led political talks.' It expressed EU strong support for the work of the UN Special Envoy Ghasan Salame, calling on the international community to help Libyans unite, and assist them to establish peace , reconciliation and stability in the country. The Mission condemned the shelling and raids on several areas in Tripoli and its outskirts. =Lana=
