French Foreign Ministry: Return to Political Process on Basis of Paris and Palermo Conferences.

Paris, 1 October 2019(Lana) France has called for a ceasefire and
return to political process in Libya under UN auspices and on the
basis of Paris and Palermo conferences, and Abu Dhabi meeting to pave
the way for elections.
The French position was stated by the Foreign Minister in
response to a question about the date of the conference to be hosted
by Berlin in the coming days, according to a statement published on
the French Foreign Ministry website on Monday.
The French Foreign Ministry Spokesman said the ministerial
meeting, held on the sidelines of the UN General Assembly in New
York, helped promote an international unanimity to end the crisis in
Libya, stressing that there was no military solution in Libya.
'The New York meeting has allowed the international community and
regional key players to express their unity and commitment to back-up
UN-led effort in Libya especially before the international conference
to be hosted by Germany in this Autumn, the Spokesman said.
The essential role of the African Union, which along with the UN
will take part in hosting a joint Libyan conference as part on the UN
Special Envoy plan which had the backing of the G 7.
