Salama Regrets Lost Chance to Convene Ghadamis Conference.
Pulbished on:
Tripoli, 15 April 2019(Lana) The UN Special Envoy to Libya Ghasan
Salama has said he regretted the non-convention of the National
Gathering Conference which was slated to be held in the city of
Ghadamis on April 14, in a bid to find a solution to the Libyan
crisis.
'Today was the day for your gathering in Ghadamis, in which you
together were to determine the shape of your future state..a state
that's able, fair, civil and democratic', Salama tweeted.
The UN Envoy stressed that 'no matter how severe the conflict may
become, the solution to the Libyan crisis could not but be
political.'
The National Gathering Conference was scheduled to convene from
14 to 16 April, but the UN Envoy delayed it indefinitely as clashes
raged in the capital suburbs since April 4.
