Brussels, 8 April 2019(Lana) The European Union Monday called for
a halt to military confrontation in Libya, and stressed importance of
returning to political track.
The High Representative of Foreign Affairs and Security Policy
Federica Mogherini told reporters prior to a EU Foreign Ministers
meeting in Luxemburg, 'Libyans need not fighting among themselves,
but they need talks and political agreement.
Mogherini indicated that the situation in Libya would be on the
agenda of the EU Foreign Ministers official meeting.
The situation is increasingly worrying, said Mogherini noting
that she spoke to the UN Special Envoy to Libya Ghasan Salama earlier
on Monday.
'The first message I want to put through is a complete
implementation of an armistice, to allow evacuation of the injured
and civilians, and also to avoid any further military action and
return to political negotiations.
