President of Presidency Council grants approval for actual start of maintenance work at Tripoli International Airport .

Tripoli 12 July 2018 (Lana) President of Presidency Council,
Fayez Al Sarraj announced Thursday granting permission to start work
to rehabilitate Tripoli international airport for which plans has
been laid down for months, being a critical utility for the capital
and Libya as a whole.
In speech at the ceremony held in the occasion he said; 'We
succeeded in overcoming obstacles causing delay of maintenance work'.
He said the expectations are high that Tripoli international
Airport and indeed other Libyan airports be transit airports into
Africa and Europe and a pillar for tourist activities due to
outstanding location of Libya and its virgin tourist riches. The
announcement to declare maintenance work open at Tripoli
International Airport is just the beginning of realizeing this
aspiration that needed work and effort. 'We are confident of the
ability of our youth to make achievements and run this facility with
skills' A; sarraj said.He underlined the role of the public to
safeguard airport facility established to serve them.
President of Presidency Council said the aviation sector is an
integrated system, the keen interest to establish and prepare the
airport with up to date equipment must be accompanied by commitment
by airline companies to stick to their schedules. He stressed the
role of security men to facilitate airlines tasks for the safety of
passengers.
Al sarrj congratulated the ministry of transport for starting
maiantance work at Tripoli International Airport. He also
congratulated those managing Amitiqa Airport for the services
offered and shouldering the burden of continuing air flights from and
into Tripoli. The President confirmed that Amitiqa is to continue
offering its services and indeed further develop the airport to have
two airports to serve the population of Tripoli and Libya as a whole.
